You can paddle and cool off in the river, and in summer some visitors bathe in the pools below the falls. The water is cold and the current can be strong, so follow your guide on where it is safe. Never go into the river after heavy rain or a storm in the mountains.

Yes. Our team was there in September 2026 and the road, the villages and the waterfalls are all open as normal, and the valley is as beautiful as ever. As in any mountain valley, a storm can make the river rise very quickly, which is what happened in the 1995 flood. Today the authorities raise the alarm as soon as a storm is coming and ask everyone to leave the riverbank. The traditional terraces built in the riverbed are sometimes washed away, then rebuilt. Your guide follows the weather and shows you where it is safe.

Yes. The trip is private, so the timing is yours. You can sit by the river, walk through the village, or stay longer at the falls. Nothing on this tour runs to a fixed schedule.

No. Lunch and drinks are not included and are paid on site, usually between 6 and 12 euros per person. Several restaurants set their tables beside the river. Your guide will point out the ones locals use, and you order what you want.

The price depends on the size of your group, because the vehicle and the guide are yours: 120 EUR for one traveller, then the price per person falls as the group grows, down to 20 EUR per person for 14 to 17 travellers.
