Shared Morocco Desert Tours: What to Expect

Our shared Morocco desert tours leave Marrakech every day at 7 AM in an air-conditioned minibus, with a driver who speaks English and French and up to 17 travellers in the group. Two routes are available: Zagora in 2 days for 80 EUR per person, and Merzouga in 3 days for 94 EUR per person, with a night in the Dades Valley on the way.

Both include pick-up at your accommodation, the camel ride at sunset, dinner and breakfast at the desert camp. Lunches and drinks are paid on the spot, so you choose where and what you eat. What you give up compared with a private tour is the timetable: the group leaves and stops at set times.

Which shared desert tour should I choose?

Zagora if you have two days, Merzouga if you have three and want the high dunes of Erg Chebbi. Our guide Zagora or Merzouga compares them.

How many people are in the group?

Up to 17 travellers, in an air-conditioned minibus.

Is a shared desert tour safe for solo travellers?

Yes. Many of our guests travel alone, and the group format means you share the camp and the evening with other travellers.
