  • Please note that Zagora is a flat, rocky desert with very few sand dunes. The scenery is unique but differs from the iconic Sahara dunes found in other regions.
  • The driving time from Marrakech to Zagora is approximately 7 hours (excluding stops for sightseeing, meals, photos, or breaks).
  • Bring comfortable walking shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat for sun protection.
  • Winter Season: The Zagora desert can get extremely cold at night, especially during the winter months. Be sure to pack warm clothing, including thermal layers
  • Camel Ride: Enjoy roughly 1-hour camel rides during sunset and sunrise, offering breathtaking views of the desert landscape.
  • Luggage: You can bring a small backpack for the desert camp while your main luggage is stored safely in the vehicle.
  • Vegetarian & Special Diets: Available upon request—please inform us in advance

How long is the drive from Marrakech to Zagora?

The drive takes approximately 7 hours, including scenic stops at Aït Benhaddou, Ouarzazate, and the High Atlas Mountains.

Will we see sand dunes in Zagora?

Zagora is a rocky desert with smaller dunes, not like the large golden dunes of Merzouga. However, you will still experience a camel trek and the beauty of the desert landscape.

Is the camel ride comfortable?

Camel rides can be a bit bumpy, but they are a unique and authentic way to experience the desert. If you prefer, a 4×4 transfer to the camp can be arranged instead.

What should I wear for the camel ride?

Bring comfortable clothing, closed-toe shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and a warm jacket for the chilly desert nights. Don’t forget a camera to capture the stunning views!What should I pack for the tour?

Can I upgrade to a luxury camp?

Yes! When you go through the payment process, you will have the option to upgrade to a luxury desert camp with private tents, en-suite bathrooms, and extra comfort. Let us know in advance if you’d like this option, or simply select it during checkout.

Can I bring luggage on the tour?

We recommend bringing a small backpack for essentials. Larger suitcases can be stored in Marrakech or placed in the minibus luggage area.

What happens in case of bad weather?

I had an incredible time on the 2-day desert tour to Zagora from Marrakech!
